John Kruper President, Alpine Access University

Dr. Kruper directs the company’s virtual learning institution.  As President of Alpine Access University, John is responsible for the learning design, development, community and technology services that support over 5,000 professionals each year.

Prior to Alpine, John held positions as Chief Learning Scientist at Cardean Learning Group (formally UNext), Senior Lecturer and Director of Academic Computing at the University of Chicago, Director of Educational Computing at Allegheny College, and Assistant Director of the DNA Learning Center of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

He has taught numerous courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education levels. His software projects and eLearning courses have won awards from EDUCASE, LGuide, Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning, Eisenhower National Clearinghouse, and the American Society for Training & Development.

John holds a doctorate in Science Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MS in Molecular Virology from the University of Chicago. He also holds a BS in Biochemistry and a BS in Molecular and Cell Biology from Pennsylvania State University.
