Jim Ball is a pioneer in the use of home-based workers in the call center industry, who co-founded Alpine Access in 1998.
Following careers as an engineer in the oil business and an environmental attorney, he agreed to help a friend whose start-up company offered call center services. While there, Jim saw that the biggest challenge for call centers was finding and retaining good people at affordable wages. The idea struck him that by distributing the work to the people, instead of asking the people to come to the work, he could meet that challenge. So, Jim decided to create a call center company that would have all of its agents working from their homes, with new and unique business processes designed specifically to support thousands of distributed workers. Together with a business partner, he founded Alpine Access, which is now the leading provider of call center services using exclusively home-based employees.
Jim holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Wyoming, a M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado at Denver and a J.D. from the University of Denver.
